Port Moresby compares badly on crime, with many other the national capitals. However, the reality is that the vast majority of people visiting here do so without becoming victims of crime or even seeing any crime committed. This is not to make light of the risk -- it is real -- but is an attempt to put it into perspective. People who take reasonable care generally avoid problems.
